Review: Beats Studio Wireless Headphones

These headphones are almost identical to the Beats Studio (2013) model headset, the biggest difference between the two is that this Studio Wireless model contains Bluetooth technology, wireless streaming and active noise cancellation. Also, the Studio Wireless model is more expensive. The design of this headset is based on the Studio headset.

However, this new design is sturdier, lighter and more comfortable. It is a comparable device to many other top of the line headsets. This article will review the design, features and sound quality of the Beats Studio Wireless Headphones.

The Beats Studio Design

Available is several different colors including; blue, red, titanium, white, matte black and glossy black. This model keeps true to the stylish features that the Beats brand is known for. It is much more durable than the original studio model.

They are a premium headset and come with a premium price tag but they are made from mostly plastic. With the glossy finishes fingerprints can become an issues. However, they come with a buffing cloth to help with this issue.

This headset is a foldable design and it doesn’t contain any visible screws. However, when you fold the headset into the compact position you will see the Torx brand screws in the joints of the headband. As you fold and unfold this headset it fits nicely into place.

It comes with a cord for a wired option, however that cord only comes in red. No matter what color headset you get the included cord is red. This can be a clash of colors with certain models. With the price you pay for the headset it seems only fair to get a matching cord and headset.

The Studio Wireless Features

Included with your purchase is a compatible carrying case to keep your headphones safe. Plus, if you are tired of using the wireless functions it comes with a straight cord to keep you wired when needed. This cord has an iOS compatible remote with microphone for answering calls. Please note that the remote may not work with Android devices but the microphone will work with all devices.

Inside your device there is a digital signal processor also called DSP, plus the Beats Acoustic Engine. It also has the active noise cancellation that can be adapted into two different modes. The first mode is for listening to music with a balance between your environment and your music. The second mode will totally shut out the outside world.

A rechargeable lithium battery powers this device. It offers 12 hours in a wireless mode and 20 hours in wired mode. There is a LED light fuel gage near the power button to help indicate how much battery power is left.

The Beats Studio Sound Quality

The original model Beats Studio headset was very bass heavy, staying true to the Beats brand. This headset however offers users a more balanced sound and a less overwhelming bass. It has a good bass energy, alongside a detailed sound.

At high volumes these headphones have been known to leak some sound. However, it does have a smooth and accurate sound. Vocals and Acoustics can be heard clearly and are not overshadowed.

They offer a very pleasant sound for long hours of music listening. It is a fine device, but it doesn’t stand too high above other comparable brands, with some lower prices. With the Beats Studio Wireless you are paying for the design, style and name as well as the quality, this is why the cost is so high.

One of the best things about this headset is the Bluetooth features. It can be hard to find a quality headset with a great Bluetooth sound. However, the Beats is able to accomplish this task. It sounds excellent even in Bluetooth mode.

In Conclusion

Overall, these headset is an extremely comfortable wireless over the ear headset. Offering users top of the line Bluetooth and noise cancellation features. They even fold and fit compactly in your storage space. Plus the battery life is around 12 hours and works well for making phone calls. The only downside to these headphones is the price. They are very expensive and if the battery dies the music stops. If you’re willing to pay almost $350 buy-now-1 for a pair of headphones these are an excellent top quality wireless and Bluetooth capable model.
